Hello! I’m so glad you found me on the web. I love God, my husband Phil, family and friends both old and new. I am passionate about pursuing a life marked by love, faithfulness and simplicity.
After traveling the world as an Air Force kid, I earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Messiah College before settling in Dallas, Texas in 1994.
For many years I worked as a teacher, event planner, and mentor in an evangelical para-church organization before earning a Certificate in Christian Studies from Westminster Theological Seminary. While attending seminary, I recorded a CD with my brother, self-published a book about my journey up to that point, and went to work as the Children’s Ministry director for a large Presbyterian Church. After three years of loving on the families there, I went into business for myself working from home as an educational consultant and curriculum developer.
In 2011, I married my best friend, Phil. While life is pretty wonderful for us in many ways, our portrait has its share of dark along with light. I was diagnosed in 2001 with “Multiple Systemic Exhaustion Syndrome,” which was doctor-speak for a number of symptoms including thyroid and adrenal exhaustion, chronic fatigue, hypoglycemia, and systemic infections.
Fits and starts have marked my journey back to health. I have discovered that exhaustion has many faces and its tentacles weave their way deep through a person’s emotional and spiritual psyche as well as their physical health. Returning to wellness has been a process of exploring a variety facets, and I’ve learned so much about myself, God, and what true love looks like … and what it doesn’t.
Through this site I hope to share some of the resources and insights I’ve learned along the way as well as provide a space where those healing from all kinds of brokenness can find a welcoming community.Topics: About Me
